14th Annual Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days Raises More Than $450,000 for Alzheimer's Association
Since 2003, Bankers Life Has Provided $4.5 Million for Alzheimer's Care, Education and Research

CHICAGOAug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankers Life, a national life and health insurance brand that focuses on the insurance needs of Americans who are near or in retirement, has raised more than $450,000 for the Alzheimer's Association following the successful Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days event held throughout the country in June. In their 14 years of support, the company has raised more than $4.5 million to support the Alzheimer's Association's work in Alzheimer's care, education and research.

"With Alzheimer's devastating effects on the Baby Boomer population, Bankers Life is committed to supporting the important work of the Alzheimer's Association," said Scott Goldberg, president of Bankers Life. "Our longstanding dedication to the cause is brought to life annually through our Forget Me Not Days event, a street-corner fundraising campaign to raise public awareness of and collect funds for the Alzheimer's Association. Every year, Bankers Life agents, associates and volunteers band together as champions for the fight against Alzheimer's.

Through the Bankers Life community's passion for the cause, the 2016 Forget Me Not Days event raised more than $300,000 across the country. In addition, Bankers Life and its parent company CNO Financial Group pledged $150,000 in corporate donations to support the Alzheimer's Association's mission.

In its 14th year, Forget Me Not Days rallied more than 1,600 Bankers Life agents, associates and Alzheimer's Association volunteers to hit the streets and collect donations from passersby. Volunteers gathered in more than 170 cities across the country and distributed more than 200,000 packets of Forget-Me-Not flower seeds in exchange for donations. Individuals can plant the seeds at home in honor of families across America who are facing or have lost someone with Alzheimer's.

"The Alzheimer's Association congratulates Bankers Life, CNO Financial Group and its employees for another successful Forget Me Not Days campaign," said Donna McCullough, chief development officer, Alzheimer's Association. "Their generous support is greatly appreciated and will bolster our efforts to help the more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and their families."

One hundred percent of the funds raised during Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days are donated to the Alzheimer's Association, the largest nonprofit funder for Alzheimer's research in the nation.
