SEMINAR FOR EMPLOYERS ON MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION DRUG IMPROVEMENT AND MODERNIZATION ACT FOCUSES ON RETIREE BENEFITS

CHICAGO (March 18, 2005) - Bankers Life and Casualty Company, Chicago, hosts a free informational seminar on The Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act at the Intercontinental Chicago Hotel on Tuesday, April 5, 2005.

The panel of government and industry experts will focus on helping employers understand the potential effects and implications on retiree benefits. Changes taking effect in January 2006 will be the emphasis.

The presenter will be Leslie V. Norwalk, Esq., Deputy Administrator, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Panelists include Jeff Schulte, Senior Partner, AXIA Strategies; Dawn E. Helwig, Principal, Consulting Actuary, Milliman, Inc.; Eric L. Smithback, Principal, Consulting Actuary Milliman, Inc.; and Joe Altman, Principal, Towers Perrin.

The Intercontinental Hotel is located at 505 N. Michigan Avenue. The seminar will take place in the Seville Room, 1st Floor, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Continental breakfast will be served.
