BANKERS SAYS SENIORS SHOULD PREPARE NOW FOR 2006 CHANGES TO MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION DRUG COVERAGE
Saturday, January 8, 2005
CHICAGO (August 1, 2005) - When the government
implements important changes in Medicare with the introduction of
outpatient prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D), will
Americans be ready?
Under the Medicare Modernization Act, Americans age 65 and older
will be asked to choose whether or not to participate in Part D
coverage during an open enrollment period starting in November.
Life and health insurer Bankers Life and Casualty Company wants to
help prepare seniors to make an appropriate choice.
The Chicago-based company is offering a free informational
pamphlet discussing Medicare Part D. The pamphlet explains what
Part D is, premiums, co-payments, deductibles, how to enroll and
other information on the voluntary program.
The booklet is available by calling 1-800-664-4466. The
information is intended to help seniors make informed choices about
prescription drug coverage. Callers may receive a follow up call by
a Bankers agent.
